7.35am, the sun is knocking on my tent making me feel like in an oven. It's time to wake up. Rah! Bloody sleeping bag! Open yourself NOW I'm cooked here! Few! Finally outside! Okay, let's think a minute. If I want to ride on the beach, I have to wait until 1pm but it will be too late if I want to join Peter today. Hmm, maybe I can go now! The tide is coming up so I have two hours. Let's hurry then! I'll eat on the way :-) I've never been as fast as today to pack all my stuff :-). It took me just 15 minutes!

Let’s ride on the beach!! 16km to join Ninety Mile beach camp. I’m really lucky because, this morning, there is no wind. The sand is quite hard and I’m able to reach 25km/h cool :-). Unfortunately, after a few kilometers, I got a bit tired. I noticed that my three wheels uses the same mark on the sand. It means that the second wheel goes deeper than the front one and that’s logically even worse for the trailer’s wheel.
Solution: curving :-) If I move slightly like a snake, each wheel will make its own mark on the sand and it should be easier to ride right? Let’s try… Yes it seems to work better than I expected :-). I never rode on a beach before and it’s a great experience. Thanks New Zealand :-).
Riding like a snake on the beach
Almost an hour later, I arrive at the camp and met Peter who is still preparing himself. I’m warm now and I don’t want to wait for him. He doesn’t seem to want to hurry so I decide to leave. I know he will catch me up later on the road. To go to Ahipara, I need to pass through Kaitaia. The road is the same as last time and I already know it’s not the most interesting but that’s the way it is.
When I reached Kaitaia, I finally ate something, went to the bank and found an internet access to upload all my last pictures. Two hours and thirty minutes later I was on my way towards Ahipara. That’s a little village front of the Tasman see and the camp looks quite good from what I’ve read about.
Between Kaitaia and Ahipara

Here I am in the Ahipara Holiday park. That’s the reception.
The living room with TV, internet and pingpong table. It reminds me Kerikeri now except that there is nobody here.

The kitchen looks like an home kitchen and all the cooking accessories are available, that’s great because I’m going to cook for the next four days tonight :-).

I like this message: “Your mother does not live here, please clean up after yourself.

Finally the place to make BBQ. The toilets are on the right hand side. See you tomorrow! I must clean my bike entirely now because of the sand…
